Tooth Fillings and Restorations

What are tooth restorations or tooth fillings?

Restorations(fillings) are materials used to treat a cavity created in the decayed portion of the tooth after the said dental decay is cleaned. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding)

Restorations could be further subcategorized into direct and indirect restorations. Direct ones are those done directly by the dentist at the clinic by adding material layer after layer into the cavity in the tooth. Indirect ones are those which are made by the Ceramists at the lab using either furnaces or milling units
